He belongs to the renowned Aguilar family of potters, with roots tracing back to the late 1800s (including the famous Aguilar sisters, Felipita Aguilar Garcia and Asuncion Aguilar Caté). \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe is particularly known for creating some of the largest hand-coiled polychrome ollas (jars) at Santo Domingo Pueblo, continuing a family tradition of impressive large-scale storage jars. His work is hand-coiled (not wheel-thrown), polished, and traditionally fired in a pit.
