She learned pottery-making growing up in Santa Clara Pueblo and specialized in carved blackware and black-on-black jars and bowls. Her pieces, like a black bowl with a carved avanyu (water serpent) design (8”L x 8”W x 3.25”H), are handcrafted using traditional methods. These involve coiling clay, polishing it to a high sheen, and firing it to achieve the iconic black finish. Her work is signed “Dolorita Santa Clara Pueblo” and is valued for its craftsmanship.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Antique American Indian Art","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45878107570341,"sku":"22-0210","price":220.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0718\/6071\/5685\/files\/22-0210_2.jpg?v=1760317957","url":"https:\/\/antiqueamericanindianart.com\/products\/22-0210-dolorita-st-black-pottery-dish","provider":"Antique American Indian Art","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
