She was the daughter of potter Helice Vallo and learned traditional pottery-making by watching and working with her mother. She began producing and selling pieces as a young teenager around 1922 and continued actively into the 1990s (over 70 years). She is especially known for traditional polychrome hand-coiled pottery. Forms include jars, bowls, pitchers, lamps, owl figures\/effigies, canteens, and fluted wedding vases\/jars with twisted or braided handles. Designs often feature geometrics, birds\/parrots, butterflies, rain\/lightning motifs, flowers, and other classic Acoma elements. Pieces are commonly signed (e.g., “E. H. Acoma N.Mex,” “E. Histia,” “Eva Histia Acoma,” or similar).\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Antique American Indian Art","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50601126396069,"sku":"260929-10","price":2230.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0718\/6071\/5685\/files\/260929-10_4.jpg?v=1791392534","url":"https:\/\/antiqueamericanindianart.com\/products\/acoma-pueblo-wedding-jar-pottery-by-eva-histia","provider":"Antique American Indian Art","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
