She is from the Antelope Mesa area near Keams Canyon on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. She comes from a prominent pottery family: daughter of Eunice “Fawn” Navasie, and sister to potters like Dawn Navasie and Fawn Garcia Navasie.\u003cspan style=\"display: none; mso-hide: all;\"\u003eeyesofthepot.com\u003c\/span\u003e She learned the craft young (starting around age 6) by watching and helping her mother and grandmother.
