Vigil (1921–1995) was a Jemez Pueblo (Walatowa) ceramic artist best known for leading the modern revival of historic Pecos Pueblo glaze-ware pottery. She was a direct descendant of the last residents of Pecos Pueblo. After raids, disease, and depopulation, the remaining Pecos people (estimates vary around 17–38) relocated to the other Towa-speaking community at Jemez Pueblo in 1838. Vigil began making pottery in the 1950s and continued nearly until her death.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Antique American Indian Art","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51077747769509,"sku":"241020-30","price":125.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0718\/6071\/5685\/files\/241020-30_2.jpg?v=1793653060","url":"https:\/\/antiqueamericanindianart.com\/products\/jemez-pueblo-pottery-vase-by-evelyn-m-vigil","provider":"Antique American Indian Art","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
