These deep, open bowls were part of important rain-calling ceremonies. The saguaro fruit (bahidaj) was harvested in summer, processed into syrup, mixed with water, and fermented (often in ollas or these baskets). The wine was drunk communally during rituals to invoke monsoon rains for crops. The baskets were tightly woven (sometimes sealed with cactus materials) to hold liquids without leaking.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Antique American Indian Art","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":48031547588773,"sku":"25-0742a","price":545.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0718\/6071\/5685\/files\/25-0742a_2.jpg?v=1784655578","url":"https:\/\/antiqueamericanindianart.com\/products\/large-pima-tiswin-basket-bowl","provider":"Antique American Indian Art","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
