In the 1950s she refined the traditional local clay by polishing pieces with a quartz stone before they fully dried, then firing them at a slightly lower temperature in a reduction (low-oxygen) atmosphere. This produces the signature deep, shiny black finish instead of the older dull gray.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Antique American Indian Art","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50720094421157,"sku":"260929-30","price":305.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0718\/6071\/5685\/files\/260929-30_2.jpg?v=1792608582","url":"https:\/\/antiqueamericanindianart.com\/products\/mexico-blackware-turtle-pottery-by-dona-rosa","provider":"Antique American Indian Art","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
