Widely regarded as the first great master among Navajo silversmiths, Slender Maker was active from the 1870s into the 1910s (d. 1916). He was the father of the renowned silversmith Fred Peshlakai, who learned the craft from his father and later became a master in his own right.The necklace is a classic squash blossom design featuring first-phase craftsmanship in ingot silver. At its center is a finely executed sand-cast naja set with two turquoise stones. The piece remains in excellent condition and appears to retain its original three strands of cloth string or cord.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Antique American Indian Art","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":48157340696741,"sku":"260810-01","price":18030.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0718\/6071\/5685\/files\/260810-01_10.jpg?v=1786940335","url":"https:\/\/antiqueamericanindianart.com\/products\/navajo-squash-blossom-first-phase-period-necklace","provider":"Antique American Indian Art","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
