Art & Artifact Restoration Services
Professional Cleaning and Repair for Native American Art — Protect History, Protect Your Investment
Since 1985, Matt Wood's AAIA, LLC has been the trusted choice for professional cleaning and restoration of Native American art and artifacts. We serve collectors, dealers, museums, and estates nationwide with expert care for pieces ranging from prehistoric pottery to contemporary jewelry.
Every restoration begins with a thorough analysis of your item's condition, followed by an honest assessment of cost versus benefit. We discuss all aspects of the work with you before we begin — including how restoration affects the market value of your piece.
What We Restore
Navajo Rugs & Blankets
From simple hand washes to complex debleeding and sectional reconstruction, we clean and repair Navajo weavings from all periods (1850–present). Period-matched yarns and dyes ensure seamless results.

Native American Baskets
Whether your basket needs cleaning, stitch replacement, reshaping, or reconstruction of missing sections, our work increases both the aesthetic and market value of your collection. We handle basketry from all tribes and regions of North America.
Pueblo Pottery
Professional cleaning and restoration for pottery from all periods — prehistoric to contemporary. Our services include chip and crack repair, surface paint loss restoration, spot and overall cleaning, shard reassembly, and full reconstitution of broken pieces.
Beadwork & Hide
Expert matching of period beads and materials using original sewing techniques. Our repairs are virtually undetectable. Before-and-after photos are recorded and provided as part of every project. (Note: Heavy water damage that has turned hide to stiff rawhide cannot be restored.)
Native American Jewelry
From missing stones to broken silver, we repair Navajo, Zuni, and Hopi jewelry — both contemporary and old pawn/estate pieces. Services include stone inlay repair, sterling silver soldering, stone replacement, necklace restranding, cleaning, and sizing.
