Diane Wade is a contemporary potter from Isleta Pueblo (also known as Isleta del Sur) in New Mexico. Born in 1962, she has been creating pottery since around 1986. She is known for hand-forming pieces using clay she personally digs, often polishing them to a high gloss and using traditional Pueblo firing techniques (including chocolate-brown or blackware styles). Her work frequently features animal effigies, especially bears, along with carved or etched motifs like bear paws, mountains, moons, and pictographs.
