In Zuni Pueblo carving, fossil ivory (especially mammoth ivory) is occasionally used by artists for high-end fetishes. In Zuni Pueblo culture, a lizard fetish is a small, hand-carved representation of a lizard, is used for protection, guidance, or ceremonial purposes.
