Large Navajo Concho Belt. 

From the estate of John Lorenzo Hubbell (1918-2012), grandson of Ganado Trader, John Lorenzo Hubbell. This belt was given to John by his father Roman (1891-1957), who, along with his broth JLH Jr., took over the Hubbell Trading Post in 1930 upon the passing of their father JLH (1883-1942).  The hollow cross buckle is often referred to, when woven in Navajo Blankets and Rugs, as the "Hubbell Cross".  This belt is a superior example of the early work, and one which was in the private collection of the Hubbell family until it came to our family gallery. 

An exceptional belt with 4 small turquoise settings in buckle.
