The Eagle Kachina embodies immense power, strength, and protection. Revered as the ruler of the sky and a divine messenger, it carries prayers, dreams, and wishes to the heavens and the great spirits. In Hopi lore, eagles are honored guests during dances (like the early March Repeat Dances), where their motions are mimicked to pray for an abundance of eagles and good fortune. The "Dancer" aspect captures the kachina in a dynamic pose—often with one foot raised, wings spread, and beak-like mask—to evoke the bird's graceful flight.
