circa 1930-1940

44" x 69"

Handspun wool warp and weft.

With a crisp and clean design, with minor wear; overall in excellent condition. Recently professionally cleaned. A very handsome older piece. Has a few very small moth holes (difficult to find), and one corner tassel worn off, slight fade to one side (with the Rainbow Yei head at the left). Note: color correction was difficult; the outer rainbow color is more baby blue/slate blue than purple/blue.

The Fred Harvey Company ran many establishments along the Santa Fe Railroad and through them, they sold the popular white background colorful Yei rug. The height of this rugs popularity was 1930-1950. The traders at Ganado and near Shiprock, NM were main suppliers to FH during this period.
