Navajo railroad jewelry (Fred Harvey style) is lightweight silver-and-turquoise jewelry made primarily for tourists along the Santa Fe Railroad in the early 20th century (peak ~1900–1930s).The Fred Harvey Company, which ran hotels and restaurants (“Harvey Houses”) for railroad passengers, popularized it. Around 1899, company manager Herman Schweizer supplied pre-cut turquoise and thin sheet silver to trading posts so Navajo (and some other Native) silversmiths could produce lighter, more wearable pieces. Today, there is a great revival of interest in this period jewelry. This bracelet has the rare Silver Product -> Coin Silver marking.
