Early 20th Century

Hand Crafted from Hide Leather with Fringe and Glass Seed Beads with Leather Sinch Closure

In Very Good Condition

Antique Cree beaded bags are beautiful examples of traditional Indigenous beadwork from the Cree people, primarily from the northern Plains, Subarctic, and Woodlands regions (including areas in Canada like Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Quebec, as well as parts of the northern U.S. like Montana).
These bags, often small pouches or tobacco/medicine bags, date mostly from the late 19th to early 20th century (roughly 1880s–1930s). They reflect the impact of European trade: glass seed beads (introduced via fur traders) combined with Indigenous techniques and designs on brain-tanned hide (usually deer, moose, or buckskin).
