A Plains Beaded Small Umbilical Cord Fetish is a traditional Native American artifact, specifically from Plains tribes (such as the Sioux/Lakota, Cheyenne, or other Northern Plains groups).

These small, beaded items—often called umbilical fetishes, umbilical amulets, or navel cord amulets—were created to hold and protect a newborn baby's dried umbilical cord after it fell off. The cord was typically wrapped in sage (for purification and protection) and placed inside the amulet, which served as a charm for the child's health, longevity, strength, good luck, and overall well-being. It symbolized a connection between the child's life before and after birth, and acted as a protective spirit container.
