Charles Fredericks (late 1870s–1964 or 1966) was a respected Hopi katsina (kachina) carver from Oraibi (Orayvi) on Third Mesa in Arizona. He belonged to a prominent Bear Clan family and was the older brother of the well-known Hopi leader and carver Wilson Tawaquaptewa. Fredericks was also the father of Oswald “White Bear” Fredericks (1905–1996), who became a notable artist, storyteller, and collaborator on Hopi cultural documentation.

He carved traditional cottonwood root katsina dolls primarily in the early to mid-20th century (active from the 1890s or 1910s into the 1960s). Unlike some contemporaries who stylized figures more freely, Charles Fredericks was known for producing relatively accurate, true-to-form representations of the katsinam (spirit beings that Hopi dancers impersonate in ceremonies). His dolls often feature a wonderful patina from age, with preserved (though sometimes worn) feathers and strings.

Brother of Tawaquaptewa, father of Oswald "White Bear"Fredericks. AN imporatn carver, born in Orayvi (Oraibi) in the mid 1870s, and died 1964.
