Margie Chavez (also referred to as Margie P. Chavez in some listings) is a Zuni Pueblo potter known for traditional-style pottery, including kiva bowls/baskets.

Zuni kiva bowls (sometimes called "basket bowls" or "kiva baskets") are a traditional form inspired by ceremonial kivas—underground or semi-subterranean chambers used for religious and community purposes in Pueblo cultures. These pottery pieces often mimic woven baskets with a  twisted or coiled handle across the top (for carrying, like a basket). Polychrome (multi-color) decoration in black, red, and white slips. Motifs such as frogs, tadpoles (symbolizing water and fertility), clouds, dragonflies, heartlines, or geometric patterns.
