Alton Pashand (more commonly spelled Alton Pashano) is a respected contemporary Hopi kachina carver from Second Mesa (Hopi reservation in Arizona). He belongs to the Corn Clan, has been carving for over 25 years, and is known for his detailed, dynamic, and often brightly colored works that carry on traditional Hopi katsina carving techniques.

The Left Handed Kachina is said by some to be derived from the Hualapai Nation, but other Hopi attribute them to the Chemehuevi. He is called left handed because his gear is reversed. To draw an arrow from the quiver he must use his right hand rather than his left as is normal.

Due to the fragile nature of kachina dolls, we do not guarantee they will not break during shipping. We do our best to pack them well, but due to their fragile nature and even with the best packing, small pieces can break. If you are purchasing kachina dolls, please keep this in mind.
