Ancient, very fine, Alaskan Eskimo Engraved Bone Armor Slat
Native American, Alaska, Inuit, Aleutian, or Punuk peoples, Pre-Contact Period, ca. 100 to 1000 CE. Armor panels were sewn onto a larger tunic to provide protection to a warrior. Armor panel are hand-carved from either walrus or whale bone and hassix drilled attachment holes, and the smooth shape enabled spears and other weapons to be effortlessly deflected
