Vintage Plains beaded necklaces are beautiful examples of Native American beadwork from the Plains tribes (such as the Sioux/Lakota, Cheyenne, Crow, Arapaho, and others). These pieces often date from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century, reflecting a period when glass seed beads (introduced via European trade) became central to intricate geometric or floral designs.
This sort of beaded necklace was both Native and Anglo made in the 1930-50 era; a Great Lakes regional style.
