The Northern Plains Stone Club with Wood Handle is a traditional Native American war club (also called a stone-headed club or mace) from the Northern Plains tribes, such as the Sioux (Lakota, Dakota, Nakoda/Assiniboine), Crow, Cheyenne, and related groups.
These were close-combat weapons used primarily in the 19th century (and earlier prehistoric forms), designed for bludgeoning enemies, often from horseback during mounted warfare. The long, relatively thin wooden handle allowed greater reach compared to shorter Eastern woodland clubs.
