Nona Naha, a Hopi potter known for her intricately painted pottery. Based on available information, Nona Naha produces some of the thinnest and most finely painted Hopi pottery, often in the form of seed jars. Her work is distinguished by meticulous designs, influenced by her training under Helen Naha (Feather Woman) and Helen’s daughters, Sylvia and Rainy Naha. One notable piece, a polychrome seed jar from around 2010, features a vent hole at the bottom as part of her signature, which is atypical for traditional seed jars that usually have the vent at the top. Her pottery is celebrated for its precision and intricate patterns, reflecting the legacy of her mother, Edith Nash, and the Naha family’s tradition of high-quality Hopi craftsmanship.
