Carmel Romero (1909–2004) was a Santa Clara Pueblo potter known for her blackware pottery, including carved blackware bowls and plain blackware oval bowls. Her favorite designs featured the Avanyu (a water serpent) and bear paw motifs, which are significant in Pueblo culture.
