Arthur Coriz (1948-1998) and Hilda Coriz (1949-2007)

An Arthur + Hilda Coriz Santo Domingo pot is a traditional, handmade and hand-painted pottery piece created by husband-and-wife artists from the Santo Domingo Pueblo (Kewa Pueblo) in New Mexico. Hilda Coriz was a sister of noted potter Robert Tenorio and would prepare the clay vessels, while Arthur Coriz painted the traditional designs, often featuring birds, clouds, and animals. Their work is characterized by traditional materials and firing techniques, with many pieces winning awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market.
