Gloria "Goldenrod" Garcia (born 1942) is a respected Santa Clara Pueblo potter known for her intricately incised (sgraffito) miniature pottery, especially seed jars, in both traditional blackware and redware. Born in 1942 at Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico. Daughter of Petra Montoya Gutierrez (Pojoaque Pueblo) and Juan Gutierrez (Santa Clara). Part of a talented pottery family: sisters include Minnie Vigil, Lois Gutierrez de la Cruz, and Thelma Talache (or Talachy). Mother of potter Jason Garcia (Okuu Pin). Learned traditional methods from family and Pueblo members, including gathering and preparing clay, volcanic ash, and natural materials from the Pueblo lands.
