Glenn Fred is a Hopi artist from Second Mesa, Arizona, celebrated for his exceptional kachina carvings. He won the 1996 Santa Fe Indian Market Kachina Doll Division, highlighting his mastery.

Glenn Fred is a master carver known for his intricate, tradition-rooted depictions of various kachinas, including female mana figures. Fred carves dolls from a single piece of cottonwood root (a sacred material symbolizing life and water-seeking roots), emphasizing "quiet, solid elegance steeped in tradition."

Pachavuin Mana (also spelled Pachavui Mana or Pachavu Mana) is a female kachina spirit unique in Hopi tradition as one of the few portrayed by an actual woman (unlike most kachinas, which are impersonated by men, even female ones). She is closely associated with the Hemis Kachina (or Hemis Mana), often described as the "female Hemis Kachin Mana."
