In Very Good Condition

Buffy Cordero Suina learned pottery-making by observing her famous grandmother, Helen Cordero (1915–1994), who revived and popularized Cochiti figurative pottery (especially Storyteller figures) in the 1960s, and her father, George Cordero. Her work closely follows the family style—expressive figures with strong cultural ties—though she produced a more limited body of work and largely stopped after her grandmother's passing in 1994. Pieces by Buffy are highly collectible due to their quality, family lineage, and connection to the origins of modern Cochiti storytelling pottery.
