Jeffrey (or Jeffery) Askan is a Native American potter from Santa Clara Pueblo (Kha'p'oo Owinge), New Mexico, known for traditional blackware pottery, including small/miniature seed jars.  He belongs to a well-known pottery-making family at Santa Clara Pueblo His Parents are Marie Sisneros Askan (renowned potter, 1929–1983) and Andy Askan (Diné/Navajo). His Siblings Includes Linda Jo'Povi Askan (active potter who makes traditional red and black Santa Clara pottery, taught by her mother and grandmother Adelaide Silva "Lala" Sisneros) and Birdell Bourdon (also a potter). The family continues the traditional Pueblo pottery techniques: hand-coiling, shaping, polishing, and firing (often in reduction for blackware). Jeffrey has a LinkedIn profile listing himself as an artist at Santa Clara Pueblo specializing in black-on-black traditional polished pottery.
