Denny Gutierrez (also referred to as Denny Sanchez in some listings), 1942–2013, was a respected potter from Santa Clara Pueblo (Kha'p'oo Owingeh) in New Mexico. He specialized in traditional fine blackware pottery, known for its highly polished surfaces achieved through ancient Pueblo techniques of hand-coiling, burnishing, and reduction-firing.

He learned pottery-making from his mother, Katherine Gutierrez. Other family members, including his sister JoAnn Million and aunt Clara Stone, were also potters.

Gutierrez produced well-balanced, finely burnished blackware vessels. He is particularly noted for developing a distinctive faceted or swirled "melon bowl" style in the 1990s, featuring carved or ribbed surfaces that create a dynamic, textured look while maintaining the deep black polish. He also made carved black-on-black pieces with motifs like feathers, geometrics, sunfaces, and traditional designs.
