Kevin Quanimptewa (also spelled Quanimptewal in some listings) is a renowned Hopi artist from the village of Hotevilla on Third Mesa in Arizona.  He specializes in carving traditional and miniature Hopi kachina dolls, which are sacred representations of spirits in Hopi culture. These dolls are often crafted from cottonwood root, painted with natural pigments, and adorned with feathers, leather, and other traditional materials.  Quanimptewa is celebrated for his unique painting style, unusual color schemes, and mastery of miniatures—some as small as 2-3 inches tall—while maintaining intricate details and cultural authenticity.
