A banded dolomite mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes and a tail that wraps lyrically over the body carved by Elroy Gasper - a son of Dinah and Pete Gasper Sr who died around 2010. This fetish has an offering bundle secured to the top of the back with sinew featuring a mother of pearl arrowhead and bead plus coral and turquoise beads and pennshell heishi. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess & strength of will.
