In Excellent Condition
Isidore Jules Bonheur (1827–1901) was a renowned French sculptor, part of the "animalier" school specializing in realistic depictions of animals, particularly horses. He was the younger brother of the famous painter Rosa Bonheur, who influenced his focus on equine subjects. He exhibited regularly at the Paris Salons and became known for his dynamic bronze equestrian sculptures, often featuring racehorses, jockeys, standing horses, or farm animals. His bronzes were cast by his brother-in-law, Hippolyte Peyrol, one of the most influent founders of the time.
