Pat Joshevama (also referred to as PJ or Patrick Joshevama in some sources), a respected Hopi artist from Moencopi (Lower Moencopi village on Third Mesa). Joshevama is known as an award-winning contemporary carver—relatively young in his career trajectory—who has developed a distinctive style emphasizing fine detail, often using oil-based paints for vibrant, precise finishes. His work includes various katsinam like Maasaw, Sakwa Hu (Blue Whipper), Turquoise Nose Plug, and Badger, with pieces frequently featured in galleries, auctions, and shops specializing in Native American art.
The Ahola (or Ahöla) is a high-ranking chief katsina representing germination, wisdom, and elder guidance, often appearing to open bean-planting rituals. The "Maid" or "Mana" version is the female counterpart or maiden form that accompanies him, embodying complementary aspects of fertility, nurturing, and ceremonial roles in Hopi spirituality.
