The Hopi Kachina Yellow Corn Maiden Doll (also known as Hemis Mana or Yellow Corn Katsin Mana) is a traditional carved wooden figure from the Hopi people of northeastern Arizona. These dolls represent supernatural spirits called katsinam (singular: katsina), which embody natural elements, ancestors, and moral teachings in Hopi culture. The Yellow Corn Maiden specifically symbolizes fertility, abundance, and gratitude toward Mother Earth, serving as a prayer for successful corn harvests—one of the Hopi "Three Sisters" crops (corn, beans, and squash) essential to their survival in the arid Southwest.
Due to the fragile nature of kachina dolls, we do not guarantee they will not break during shipping. We do our best to pack them well, but due to their fragile nature and even with the best packing, small pieces can break. If you are purchasing kachina dolls, please keep this in mind.
