The Hopi Kachina Crow Mother Doll represents Angwusnasomtaka (also known as Tümas or Crow Mother), a revered supernatural spirit in Hopi mythology from the Hopi Tribe of northeastern Arizona. Kachinas (or Katsinam) are spiritual beings that act as intermediaries between the Hopi people and the natural world, embodying elements like rain, fertility, and growth. They are impersonated by dancers during ceremonies and carved into dolls (tihù) to teach children about these spirits. The Crow Mother is one of the most important "mother" kachinas, symbolizing nurturing, initiation, and the cycle of life.
Due to the fragile nature of kachina dolls, we do not guarantee they will not break during shipping. We do our best to pack them well, but due to their fragile nature and even with the best packing, small pieces can break. If you are purchasing kachina dolls, please keep this in mind.
