Ronnie Yava (also spelled Ron Yava) is a renowned Hopi artisan and carver, reportedly a Hopi Medicine Man known for crafting traditional Kachina dolls. These dolls are sacred figures in Hopi culture, representing spirits (katsinam) that embody elements of nature, such as rain, crops, and fertility. Corn holds profound significance in Hopi life as a staple crop and a symbol of sustenance, so Corn Kachina dolls often depict plant personifications like the Corn Boy (Qaokatsina) or Corn Dancer (Rugan), promoting growth and agricultural abundance.
Due to the fragile nature of kachina dolls, we do not guarantee they will not break during shipping. We do our best to pack them well, but due to their fragile nature and even with the best packing, small pieces can break. If you are purchasing kachina dolls, please keep this in mind.
