Koshare (also spelled Koshares) are one of the most playful yet profound Hopi kachina figures—sacred clowns who entertain while delivering social commentary, prayers for rain, fertility, and corn growth. They often appear striped in black and white, with exaggerated features, and perform antics like drumming or mimicking human folly during ceremonies. In doll form, Koshare figures emphasize whimsy, making them popular collectibles. Their role as "society controllers" adds depth, blending humor with spiritual power.
