Hopi artist Larry David (1948–2006) was a skilled carver from the Hopi Pueblo in northeastern Arizona, known for his traditional and detailed representations of Katsinam—sacred spirit beings central to Hopi religious and cultural life. His works often emphasize the spiritual significance of these figures, using cottonwood root as the primary material, hand-carved and painted with natural pigments.
