Hand Carved from Cottonwood Root with Corn Plant Painted on Back Side of Case Mask with Blue Face and Adorned with Fur, Feathers, Yarn, Turquoise and Leather

A carving made by a Navajo artist in the style of a Hopi Katsina doll, created for sale to tourists and collectors. The Katsinam spirits and the dolls that represent them belong to the Hopi people (and to a lesser degree Zuni and other Pueblo tribes). Navajo Kachinas are More brightly painted and elaborately detailed than most traditional Hopi dolls.
