The Long Hair Katsina is a benevolent spirit (katsina) who embodies rain, clouds, and renewal. He is a singer of sweet, uplifting songs that promote harmony, positivity, and bountiful crops. He dances in groups during ceremonies like the Niman (Home Dance) in July, often accompanied by Corn Maidens, and is said to bring gentle rains—his appearances rarely occur without precipitation.
