A Zuni fetish is a small, hand-carved sculpture created by artisans from the Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico, USA, representing animal spirits believed to hold protective and spiritual powers. These carvings, often made from natural stones like marble, alabaster, dolomite, or jet, have been part of Zuni tradition for over a thousand years.

The mountain lion (also called cougar or puma) is one of the most revered Zuni fetishes, symbolizing the guardian of the North direction in the Zuni's sacred six-region cosmology. It embodies leadership, resourcefulness, intuition, loyalty, and personal power—qualities of the ultimate hunter.
