Plateau beaded gauntlet gloves are a distinctive form of traditional Native American craftsmanship, primarily associated with the Plateau tribes (such as the Yakama, Nez Perce, Umatilla, and others from the Columbia River Plateau region in the Pacific Northwest).
These gloves are elaborate riding or decorative gauntlets, featuring long cuffs (often extending well up the forearm) made from leather (typically deerskin or buckskin) and richly adorned with intricate glass seed beadwork.
