These vests are iconic examples of Native American beadwork artistry, particularly from the late 19th to early 20th century during the reservation era.They are typically made from leather or suede (often deer, elk, or buffalo hide), fully or heavily covered in intricate glass seed beadwork sewn with sinew or thread.
