A superior small basket in weave and form. Refined lidded baskets like these were often made to hold a special item, hence the term "Treasure Basket" is appropriate for this example.

 
Overall in Excellent Condition.


All Northern California tribes used Bear Grass (white) and maidenhair fern stem (black) in their overlay, the Karuk and sometime the Hupa will also use the red Alder dyed bear grass.
