Andrew Grover is a Hopi artist known for his carved Koshare Clown Kachina figures, which are significant in Hopi culture. His work often features traditional elements such as black and white stripes, corn husk horns, and a loincloth, reflecting the sacred nature of the Koshare. The Koshare, or clown, plays an important role in Hopi ceremonies, using humor to teach lessons about proper behavior while maintaining a religious atmosphere. Grover's Kachinas are characterized by their unique personalities and distinct features, with some depicting the Koyala or Koshari clown holding items like watermelons. His son, Cimmaron Grover, also works alongside him in Hotevilla, continuing the family's tradition of carving.
