Sharon Lewis, of the Red Corn Clan, is an active Acoma Pueblo potter (b. 1959, active 1985–present), daughter of Elizabeth Garcia and wife of Bernard E. Lewis. She is part of the extended Lewis family, which includes the legendary potter Lucy M. Lewis (her mother’s cousin) and other notable potters like Dolores Lewis Garcia, Emma Lewis Mitchell, and Carmel Lewis Haskaya. Sharon specializes in Mimbres Revival and traditional polychrome and black-on-white pottery, creating jars, bowls, seed pots, bird figures, and canteens. Her designs feature fine-line geometric patterns and traditional Acoma motifs, such as parrots, rainbows, and floral elements, often inspired by Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) designs.
