Helen Shupla (1928–1985) was a renowned potter from Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico (with Tohono O'odham/Papago heritage). She is especially famous for her innovative blackware melon jars (and sometimes redware), though she also created traditional black-on-black carved pottery, including vases, jars, wedding vases, bowls, and plates.
