The White Buffalo Kachina, known as Köcha Mosairu in Hopi, is a significant figure in Hopi and Navajo traditions, representing the white buffalo—a rare and sacred animal symbolizing abundance, strength, and spiritual power.  Unlike many Kachinas that embody Katsinam (spirit beings), the White Buffalo is often considered a social dancer rather than a true Kachina in the Hopi spiritual sense, appearing in winter dances, particularly at Second Mesa, during January ceremonies.  It’s revered as the most sacred of animals, its presence signaling a time of plenty and gratitude.
